Purpose:
To provide an opportunity for parents and extended family with a family member with Special Needs to relax, socialize, develop support networks and coping strategies.

Goals:
Meet and develop bonds with other parents who have a family member with special needs
To share experiences so others might learn from their experience
To feel that they are not alone
To share and learn about resources and upcoming workshops
To learn strategies to take care of themselves

When:
Once a Month

Location:
Nanton, Okotoks, High River

Outcomes:
Participants will feel they have an outlet and feel they are able to share without judgement
Participants to develop peer to peer support and continue to maintain bonds
Participants will look forward to attending and benefit from attendence
Participants will feel empowered and learn techniques to take care of themselves
Participants will learn what works for others and problem solve with other parents in similiar salutations
Families with Special Needs family members will become familiar with The Foothills Special Needs Association for Parents and Siblings and access information or assistance if needed.
