Foothills SNAPS held the Annual General Meeting on May 29th, at the Cayley School in Cayley. A great opportunity to host an event in the MD of Foothills!

The event was attended by majority of board and guests. This evening saw the presentation of the first recognition award – given to Judy McMillan-Evans for her years of service to the Foothills SNAPS as a truly committed volunteer. Judy has donated her time to the Charity Christmas Concert for 3 years and many years before that as the association began the process of growth. Great thanks to Judy for her commitment to the families and community.

The President who believes in acknowledgement of commitment, took the opportunity to thank the board of 2007-08 with recognition of a certificate and a flower.

The board accepted the resignation of one of their well respected board members Ms. Sheena Small. She made it clear she was leaving to focus on her career but hopes that some day in the future she would be welcome to return.

Elections took place as well with the following results of the election:

Lorraine Forsen accepting the position of President, Deanna Leis accepting Vice President and Carol Hamm accepting Secretary/Treasurer, all for a second term. Directors accepting positions of the board are as follows, Connie Kjinserdahl, Sandy Rhodes, Susan Kirsch, and Kathy Reinders.

A presentation on the work of Foothills SNAPS was then presented by Orvella Small, this information giving all board and guests the opportunity to have solid, clear information to share with their communities and to ensure accurate responses to enquiries. The information provided affirmed their thoughts and was welcomed as they prepare for their Strategic Planning Day to follow in the summer of 2008.
