Nanton.
The Show the Love! Heart Art Gala took place on Feb 15 at the Nanton Community Hall.
It was a fantastic event with more than 30 pieces of artwork on display which were then auctioned by Bernie Lalonde. Susie Lalonde, along with Bernie, volunteered their services for this event and were a big part of a very successful evening.
There was artwork of many different mediums, quilts, drawings, paintings, iron work, and stencilling. The artists live in areas throughout the Foothills region including Black Diamond, Okotoks, High River, Cayley and Nanton.
There were many pieces donated by local established artists who generously donated their work in support of the Heart Art Gala which was sponsored by the Foothills Special Needs Association for Parents and Siblings (SNAPS).
The Foothills SNAPS organizing representative, Sandy Rhodes, thanked all who donated artwork and attended this year's gala.
"We look forward to seeing everyone at the 2009 Heart Art Gala. The Date and location will be announced in early 2009," she said.
Contribution of time, donation, and creation of art pieces from participants resulted in the association raising approximately $4200. These funds will go towards ensuring programs in existence continue and that families and communities are able to continue to receive service from Foothills Special Needs Association for Parents and Siblings.
