The Okotoks Safeway Team chose the Foothills Special Needs Association for Parents and Siblings(Foothills SNAPS) as their charity of choice for the 2008 year. Foothills SNAPS provides connections, access, and awareness to families through various means: referrals, one to one contact, workshops, conference events, communications, and resources. Families who are living with a family member who has special needs are always welcome at SNAPS.  SNAPS is unique in that it supports all areas of need from Asthma, Aspergers, Autism, ADHD to Williams Syndrome and everything in between, including gifted and talented. We cover the area of Okotoks, MD of Foothills, High River, Black Diamond, Turner Valley, and Nanton.

We Care LogoThe Fundraising began on January 26th and ended on March 30th. The staff of Safeway was excellent when it came to promoting the charity and raising the funds. The Safeway Team Captain was Christine Sisson with the Co Captain being Carolyn Black. Volunteers included Safeway staff, Foothills SNAPS board members, families who have accessed the service of SNAPS and community members from the Okotoks and High River FCSS Volunteer service.

Foothills SNAPS was presented with a cheque for $10,572.00 on June 12th. President Lorraine Forsen is quoted as saying “These funds will go a long way to ensuring the programs of SNAPS will continue to be available to the Foothills Area. The Association is very grateful for these funds and is honored to have been chosen this year as it is the last year for the WE CARE program as Safeway looks a other fundraising goals for the future.”

THANK YOU!
